A Couple New Ideas!
It’s the second week of the school year, but no one is enrolled, yet! I’m working on getting some set and event medic gigs, and working at the track to spend my time and earn some income. In addition to the regular Outside School programs I have a couple other things in mind, all during my regular schedule since that’s what my permit is for in the park:
For Previously Enrolled Families Only:
Drop-In Days
Any day you need it! Maybe it’s a school holiday that’s when Outside School is open. Maybe it’s a school conference day. Maybe you’re sick of school getting out early on Wednesdays. Maybe your kid just needs to run around with someone familiar instead of being all cooped up!
$100/day (Email me first to make sure I’m available since I may have a work day somewhere else.)
Sign up using the new online application forms.
For Potential New Families:
Volunteer, Trail, or Story Time by the Creek Experience (choose one)
For one family at a time, any Wednesday during my normally scheduled school year (email first for availability and waiver):
$75/10:00 - 12:00
I am absolutely open for business, and will look forward otherwise to seeing and meeting some folx soon!

Nature News
Litter Getters!
When I was a kid, I got a badge from a park- I think it was Calaveras Big Trees- for being a “Litter Getter.” Aside from pickup up litter, I also had to create a chain of can pull tops as tall as me. Luckily, we found a party site in the campground, which made the job quite a bit easier! Volunteering in Wildcat Canyon Regional Park is an important part of Outside School, to give back to the land and help support our Wildcat Creek to San Pablo Bay watershed. So, I am still volunteering weekly even while I’m without students. Yesterday’s “Catch of the Day” included an upholstered seat cushion!
And hey, even though I wasn’t in the park, it’s not that I don’t appreciate nature everywhere I go! Here was the beautiful sunset and fog scene from outside my Fire/Safety truck window (I was a jump medic/firefighter) the other day:

Sports Basement Coupon!
Many of you know I have a strong preference for kids to use Kamik rain boots for their durability and grippy soles. They don’t always stock them in the shops, but I’ve seen they have them available online (specifically the “Rain Drops” style: https://shop.sportsbasement.com/search?q=kamik). I know outdoor gear isn’t cheap, so I appreciate it when the Sports Basement marketing folks offer to team up for something like this. Shop the discount in person or online 9/30/24 - 10/6/24!
Take care,
