Fire/Safety
I have a Divisional Grid/Pit license with the Sports Car Club of America and am employed on the Fire/Safety team at Sonoma Raceway. My favorite place to be is on the pit lane! You can also find me on a pit cart, helping tow disabled cars from the track into the paddock, providing medical care from the pit cart, pit lane, or as the jump medic and/or firefighter on an on-course safety truck. Working Fire/Safety, we help drivers who have crashed or need mechanical or medical assistance, mitigate hazards on the course such as finding sharp objects, covering oil spills, fighting car fires, and restoring barriers to safe condition whenever a car has made contact with them.
My kit includes:
Fireproof underwear,
Fireproof socks,
Flash hood,
Fireproof boots,
Fireproof gloves,
Pit helmet,
Nitrile gloves,
Safety glasses,
Variety of knives and multitools,
Anything else that may be necessary.
I keep up with training online, at the raceway, and have my credentials:
California EMT,
Nationally Registered EMT,
Basic Life Support.
